Why 24th July will be special this year

In our 40 years of business, this has probably been our most challenging time, and Covid-19 certainly threw up some challenges we could never have anticipated; changes to the way we worked and operated, combined with emergency legislation saw our suddenly newly home-based team take problem solving to a new level.

Property management is arguable one of the trickiest and most misunderstood jobs of the country, and for us, property management is just as much about people as buildings. We are very much aware that everything we do, big or small, has an impact for both landlord and tenant.

Whether it was arranging essential maintenance or devising new ways of communications, we are extremely proud of the innovative and creative ways our passionate and dedicated team continued to deliver our property management services throughout this pandemic. At the same time, our team managed extremely delicate issues with the diplomacy and tact needed to ensure both landlords and tenants remained safe over the past few months.

There were some incredibly stressful and frustrating times as we worked within the distancing restrictions and introduced new technologies, but we believe we continued to deliver great outcomes for our customers, and we will continue to do so.

While the whole real estate industry came together and worked so hard throughout the crisis, the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) also recognise how property managers have really gone above and beyond in their duties.

This is why the REINSW has created a day of national celebration on Friday 24th July 2020 to show its support to them.

“We have invited other Real Estate Institutes across our great nation to join us in showing our support and appreciation to our wonderful ‘doctors and nurses’ of the real estate industry; and to acknowledge how much help and support they have given to both their landlords and tenants during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said REINSW President Leanne Pilkington and Chief Executive Officer Tim McKibbin in a recent newsletter.

We are in the process of organising our own event to celebrate the day, but nominating our star property manager to REINSW will be a difficult one – we think all of our property managers are stars! Let us know if you think one of our team deserves special recognition.

If you are thinking of investing in property, our knowledgeable and experienced team can talk you through the process, explain what you need to think about, and give you some indication of current market trends.

As one of Newcastle’s longest established real estate offices, we know the area and we know the market, so give us a call on 02 4956 9777 or send us an email to mail@newcastlepropertymanagement.com.au.

We also regularly put tips and ideas for landlords on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/NewcastlePropertyManagement
